Pekanbaru - The University of Riau (UNRI), through its Mechanical Engineering Department, attended the inauguration of the Bumbu Buya production house on October 29, 2025, as a form of support for the development of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This activity is the result of a collaboration between UNRI and PLN Peduli to support the development of MSMEs in Riau.
Previously, at the end of 2024, the UNRI Mechanical Engineering Department provided production equipment to Bumbu Buya, including one steamer, one dryer, and one sifting machine, to increase production capacity and quality.
Furthermore, PLN Peduli also supported the physical construction of the production house and the provision of five pieces of production equipment: two steamers, one grinding machine, one packaging machine, and one spice drying machine. This assistance is expected to improve the efficiency and quality of Bumbu Buya's production.
With its strategic location in Dumai City, close to Malaysia, Bumbu Buya is expected to not only be able to compete in the local and national markets but also has significant potential to penetrate the international market.
With this inauguration, it is hoped that Bumbu Buya will further develop and increase its contribution to the local economy and community welfare. This activity demonstrates the positive synergy between academia, government, and the business world in promoting economic growth and community welfare.
